In the Golden Afternoon

you can learn a lot of things from the flowers, but especially in the month of June

Click your heels together three times and say:

There's no place like home
There's no place like home
There's no place like home

The Best of Playboy - January '67

The beginning of 1967 was all about pop art and parties, Fidel Castro, sex and scotch.

A lengthy interview with Fidel Castro is featured in this issue:

"I believe that the United States, with its imperialist foreign policy, is accelerating the radicalization process of revolutionary movements not only in Cuba but throughout the world."

"An enemy of socialism cannot write in our newspapers- but we don't deny it, and we don't go around proclaiming a hypothetical freedom of the press where it doesn't exist, the way you people do."

"If you ask me whether I considered myself a revolutionary at the time I was in the mountains, I would answer yes. If you asked me whether I considered myself a classic Communist, I would say no."

There were quite a few garments with Playboy bunny logos including sweaters and shirts

Wacky Shoe Cards

I was at the Discount Emporium today and I bought these cards for a dollar each. What occasion has to come into a person's life for someone to send them a card with a shoe on it? Congratulations for buying new shoes? Okay, well if anyone reading this bought some shoes and wants a card e-mail me at lauren.willmot@gmail.com and send me your address because I really don't know what do with these now that I have the images.

I find these little illustrations enchanting. Obviously these illustrators should be working for cobblers and producing the latest runway shoes. Who can resist humour based fashion aimed towards morbid older women?

Glam rock star heels

Made by Taylor Reeves. I'm starting to think I should paint/collage/silkscreen shoes and make a killing.
