Neon Victorian

My silly scanner does not compute neon yellow, orange, pink or green, but if it did you would be seeing the Lauren Willmot Spring 2011 Neon Victorian Collection. It would have been so awesome, a combination of the entire 1800's and the 80's to make a Victorian neon rainbow. There would have been black light Chandeliers hanging over the catwalk to make all the white and neon pop. The makeup and hair would have been either white wigs and black face minstrel with neon eyeshadow and lipstick, or black wigs with white clown makeup and neon eyeshadow and lipstick. Inspired by wake me up before you go-go and puttin' on the ritz, of course. That might have been the runway music. Or something by Neon Indian. So sad you missed it! Maybe next year.

Will fashion ever be cruelty free?

Sometimes Fashion can be a harsh mistress, or an insane drama queen. I live where it is cold. I won't deny that I have a lot of wool in my closet and some leather, but I've always bought it second hand. Does wearing an old animal compare to wearing a freshly slaughtered one? I don't really know anymore. What I do know is I feel nauseous looking at models swathed in copious amounts of fur. It is extravagantly cruel. Personally I think if people are going to create fur garments they should use the bodies of euthanzied cats and dogs from shelters. It would make people uncomfortable, but then they might not be so disconnected from what they are wearing. People are almost as disillusioned about their clothes as they are about their food, and it's sad.

I wish toddler tv people dressed more like this

More Louise Gray madness. We should be killing muppets and wearing them , not animals.

Louise Gray debut

Check it. I don't know what drugs you were taking when creating your spring collection Louise, but I want some.

Corset Bodysuits

Corset bodysuits should be worn, not as lingerie or an undergarment, but as everyday apparel. The flimsy lingerie ones wouldn't work, it would have to be something more durable and utilitarian, like a real corset. Maybe wear some neon tights with it to get that casual 80's look.
